Based on the famous the Tonight Show of Jay Leno, Shekhar Suman’s Movers and Shakers is the Indian version. It is a fun show with interview of a celebrity thrown in. The show is Shekhar Suman all through.
The jokes are fun to hear though some of them may be silly. But then the political satire that he indulges in is a good revelation of the comedy of India politics. The jokes should be read between the lines (or is it heard between the lines). There is the truth of the lowliness of our politics in it.
Of course the guests are no big movers. The big celebrities are reserved for shows such as Simi’s Rendezvous, Hard Talk etc.
Overall it is an interesting show and the shift in time to 10.40 p.m. ensures that the hard working people sitting late at office get the opportunity to come home and relax to some fun.
Of course like KBC which has benefited Big B the most, Movers and Shakers has benefited Shekhar Suman.
