Borrow DVDs without hassles

I have been a customer of Moviemart for more than two months and so far I have no cause for complaint. Although I am not a big movie buff I had a few films in mind which I wanted to watch — films which I was not able to see when they were shown in cinemas or on tv.

So having searched for, and found, some interesting movies on the Moviemart website I decided to give their service a try and opted for the One-DVD-at-a-time scheme which costs Rs. 279. I selected a few films and added them to my Wish List, which is a list made by a customer, on the Moviemart website, of films that he might be interested in renting. This saves him the trouble of searching the whole site for an interesting movie every day: he just has to go to his Wish List and choose the movie that he wants to watch on that particular day. What is very useful is that whenever you visit your Wish List it tells you which of the movies in the list are available for rent on that particular day and which ones are not.

So, I applied online for the service and chose to pay by cheque. I also selected a movie since their stated policy is that they will start delivering DVDs to new customers without waiting for their cheques to be cleared by banks. So, as promised, a person from Moviemart came to deliver the DVD and pick up my cheque.

All the DVDs that have been sent to me have been in good condition, and in fact some of them were new. Whenever I have placed a request before 1 pm or so, the DVD has been delivered the same day. And although most of the DVDs are of movies, there are also some which are of music concerts, both western pop as well as classical.

The website downloads fast and is well-designed. All DVDs are classified into categories, according to language as well as genre. For example, if you prefer english movies you could click on English and then select one of the genres like Action, Adventure, Drama, Horror, Romance, Musical etc. and then browse through the available titles in that genre. You can also search for a particular movie by entering its title in the search field on top of the page. Besides, if you click on any movie’s title you can read a very short paragraph on the basic story of the movie so that you can get an idea of what kind of movie it is.

The only disappointment is that they do not have some of the movies that I had searched for — some old movies of Sidney Poitier and Clint Eastwood.

However, all things considered, it has been a very pleasant experience so far and I would certainly recommend Moviemart to others.
