Gone are the days when South Mumbai had the best movie halls in the city, when every suburbanite would have to travel all the way to town to catch the latest movie.
Its boom-time for cinema goers beyond the Andheri belt, with posh multiplexes opening in the far flung suburbs. And Movie Time is definitely one of them.
This cinema hall is a part of the Movie Time Cinemas located at various other spots like Matunga, Bandra, Dahisar(yes, there too!).The location is a convenient one, right on the Link Road which can be easily accessed from Andheri as well as Borivli side.Movie Time is easy to reach even from Malad station, takes a mere 5-7 minutes by an auto rickshaw.
It houses two screens, giving movie-goers lots of movies to select from, both Hindi and English. The capacity of each cinema hall is around 200(no stalls here), which is less compared to some older theatres but it gives a feeling of spaciousness and thats definitely a plus point as one does tend to feel claustrophobic at such places.
The ambience of the cinema hall is very good, definitely a plus point, being helped by the simple yet classy decor.Very humble. And yes, no complaints about the sound and picture quality.A special mention needs to be made about the punctuality in terms of show timings.Rarely does a movie start late.A blessing for the punctual souls(Im one of them)
The tickets for the afternoon, evening and night shows are priced at Rs.80, which is somewhat on the higher side, but then thats the case these days for most of the cinema halls throughout the city. There are cheaper morning and matinee shows, for the cautious spender. The price is very well worth the plush comfortable seats with the usual drink holder. The popcorn available is of 4 different types, and then theres the ever popular samosas, sandwiches and soft drinks which are nominally priced. So munch on!!
Another good thing here is the ample parking space available(its pay and park), enough to cater to the whole crowd. And theres free parking available on the road adjoining the building. Also present right next door are the popular handouts of youngsters like Barista, Dominos, and a chinese joint. So before or after the movie, there are plenty of places where one can chill out with friends, or just while away time till the movie starts.
Movie Time also offers home delivery of tickets for a meagre extra charge, so no worries of being disappointed for the lack of availability of tickets. Will almost never happen!
FINAL VERDICT:
Even though its slightly on the expensive side, its a total value for money cinema hall, a real boon for suburbanites.Reduces travel time and provides high-quality entertainment at the same time.So go ahead, its Movie time!!!
