MSN instant messenger service has to best out at the moment. I have had this now for many of months and I have many (around 70) friends on my contact list. Every single one of my friends who has the Internet has MSN instant messenger, they also think it is a great way of talking to each other. It is free to download and very simple to use. MSN do update their messenger service and when they do they will tell you without do going to find it yourself. If a new version is out a little notice comes up as soon as you log on asking you if you would like to download the new version which then just takes over the old version, so you dont even have you do anything except click ok!
MSN is the easiest way to meet new friends over the Internet. You can do this both from meeting people in the chat rooms and then adding them to your instant messenger list or just if a friend has a friend you dont know they can introduce you them by inviting them into a conversation you and your friend already has. You can also do this with your current friends where up to 5 people including yourself can all be in the same room at the same time talking to each other. I do this with my friends and it is a lot easier than just talking from one friend to another passing messages on and so on.
The actual instant messenger you get has a simple layout which you my see in a picture at the top left corner of this opinion. All it is is a list of all the people you have on your list and these are split into two groups, the people who are online at the moment and the people who are offline at the moment. Using MSN instant messenger you can do a lot more things than just writing instant messages to each other. You can also send files to each other like pictures of each other etc. Another thing, which you can do if you have a microphone, is that you can actually have proper voice conversations with the person on the other end. But this can only be done with one person at a time and only if you both have a microphone and working speakers. You can talk to another person only if one person has a microphone but this is never as good because the other person cannot reply, except for typing.
On the messenger service you can also see if you have got any new e-mails but these e-mails have to be hotmail accounts. You can also adjust the size of this to one, which suits you. You can also publish your phone numbers either your home, work or/and your mobile on this so if someone asks you for your number just tell them to look in the call option. This brings up a list of everyone on your list who has published his or her numbers for everyone to see. There is also an option where you can send messages to pagers.
You cant stop anyone from putting you on their list but if you do not want them to talk to you, you can just simply click on the block button which will then block them from them writing to you. If there is someone on your list who you dont want on your list anymore you can just delete him or her. Everything is just really easy and simple to do and if you do have trouble with anything I will be glad to help.
There is a option for you where you can write your personal profile. This is where you can write a little about yourself with your interesting and hobbies etc. You profile does ask you for your age but if you are a little ashamed with how old you are you can just not put it down or just simply lie. In your profile you can also include a picture of yourself for people to see. This is sometimes useful because people often lie about where they live and so on forgetting about what they have written on their profile. So can just simply look at there profile to see if they are telling the truth or not.
If someone adds you to there list it will tell you about this and ask you if you want to add him or her to yours. So if one of your friends joins the MSN party and you both want to be on each other’s list only one of you has to search the other out. If someone comes online a little notice will come up in either your right or left corner. If you want to be online and want to see who is online without people knowing you are, there is an option which will let you appear to the people online that you are offline. All you have to do is click on your current status and click appear offline. In your current status there are 6 options from you to choose from you can have either
Online: This tells the people who are online that you are also Online and free for a chat.
Busy: This tells people that you are online but are currently doing something so you do not wish to chat.
Be Right Back: This tells the people online that you are online but are current away doing something else and you will be right back.
Away: This tells people that you are currently away and do not wish to talk.
On the Phone: This tells people that you are currently on the phone, so you cant reply to one of their messages yet.
Out to Lunch: This tells people that you are currently online but have gone to have something to eat and may not reply.
Appear Offline: This option tells people that you are currently offline when you are really online but they dont know that.
The only thing I do not like about this is that there is always an advertisement at the bottom of the box and is very easy to click on it by accident.
If you have not got MSN instant messenger service but do intend to you may download it from https://msn.co.uk. I recommend this to anybody, its a must have!
