I am aware I had given a great thumbs up to MTNLs broadband service when I first took their service some 6 years back. As far as browsing is concerned the service has been fairly good although they have been glaringly inadequate vis-a-vis the competition insofar as introducing higher speeds and competitive pricing is concerned. Instead their charges have been going up gradually but the speed has remained the same at 2 mbps.
In mid-August 2015 their email service simply packed up. Just like that. It had been working without glitches all these years but suddenly it was not accessible. Frantic phone calls to their helpline number 1504 fetched no help other than an indifferent "teekh ho jayega." Today, 4th September 2015, my emails are still not downloadable and MTNL has been annoyingly indifferent to my several complaints. Sometimes I can log into webmail but it is so slow and erratic. On my email client Netscape Messenger it just doesnt work.
Apparently MTNL is switching over to a new technology partner for its enterprise email. On their site I can see the name XGen. The service was working well before they fiddled unnecessarily with it. Now after three weeks they are shamelessly indifferent. MTNL needs to learn to be simple. As the saying goes, "If it aint broke, dont fix it." MTNL, you are too thick skinned. when are you going to respond to me and hundreds of others like me whose emails you have scuppered?
POSTSCRIPT: Wow! After my latest email complaint I got about half-a-dozen telephone calls(the same day I wrote the above review) from their technical team and my email is now accessible from my Netscape. Now why couldnt you display this response after my first complaint? Thanks, anyway, MTNL. Phew!
