Re-live those nostalgic days

MTV Classics(MTVC) is one programme which I would never like to miss, bcoz there are always one or two videos of songs , which you would have heard growing up during those school days or DD (forgot what is DD.....arrre yaar our own Doordarshan)days. Where else can u see those faded or fading pop/rock stars whose posters were plastered all round your sisters room, songs hidden somewhere in the corner of ur mind, or those one song/album wonders .

During those DD days , the only access to western music was either thro’ radio request shows(mainly SLBC)or chart countdowns in BBC or Voice of USA . It is always nice to see videos of songs which you had heard so many times and those chubby cheeked Madonna, moon walking original MJ, golden haired George Micheal, evergreen ABBA, boogeying Boney M, oooooohhh tarzan Boy, a-ha.....

The other day I happened to see Bananarama, Self Control by Laura Branigan which I had almost forgotten, and remembered those days, (not far was just in 80’s and my God, is almost a decade...) when my aunt used to play those tunes day in and day out. Some weeks ago Mini had some episodes dedicated exclusively to retro rock groups and was really nice to hear them.

But the only thing that perplexes me is when they play a song of an artist it would always be the same, for eg, if ABBA it would be either one of some 3 songs like either dancing queen, voulez vous...., boy george usually chamaleon, either they dont have the videos of other songs or I dont know...and I have hardly seen some pop stars , like Elvis, Johny tiltson, Carpenters(very rare), Shakin Stevens, Cliff Richard, Lobo, Duran Duran.....so Cyrus r u hearing..?

Even [V] Rewind was also good, but somehow I dont see that on air nowadays. Other nice things are those tit-bit info regarding those songs which r quite interesting..... In short the magic is something like hearing Bailamos or Desert Rose, after a decade...
