MTV - the channel of the youth, the channel for music lovers, the channel that everybody wants to watch, the channel that plays all sorts of music... I don’t know how long these compliments are going to get along with MTV.
MTV is, by no doubt, one the best entertainment arenas but it has some flaws, which need to be looked at.
TOO MANY ADVERTISEMENTS- If I watch MTV for an hour, I watch advertisements for thirty minutes. This is highly boring for anyone. Advertisements are very interesting nowadays, but a music lover would watch MTV for music. After all, it’s MUSIC TELEVISION not Advertisement Television. I personally think they should cut down on these.
LESS MUSIC- I reiterate, it’s Music Television. MTV has come up with Roadies, Pyar Vyar, Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, Fully Faltu and so many award shows. These are fun to watch but they should not come in the way of the music. Maximum priority should be given to play music.
NOT MUCH VARIETY- Only bollywood is not enough. International music- Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Rap, Old songs- Hindi & English… music knows no bounds and a music channel must play all the music.
CENSOR CHECK- A little more attention to what is being played won’t hurt, even though the videos are in their limits. The youth must be provided with healthy entertainment.
These are a few areas, which I thought need improvement. Please present your views.
