’’Mujhse shadi karogi’’ had been creating lots of waves before it’s release boating of good songs , locales of mauritius, matrix technology etc. After seeing the movie, I’ve come to the conclusion that the movie meets up it’s expectations and is most definitely worth the price of the ticket.
Fun, entertainment, laughs, excellent picturization of songs, stunning use of colors, good acting by the lead characters and slick direction are some of the things that will make this movie a hit with the masses. Of course, there will always be some who will say it’s nonsense but is there any movie in the history of cinema liked by each and everyone? There is’nt, after all there are also people who think devdas was crap.
The story revolves around sameer(Salman Khan) who has a problem with his temper and sunny(Akshay Kumar) is his childhood friend who shares an apartment with sameer but hiding his identity all the time. Both of them fall for rani(Priyanka Chopra) and it’s almost the same as Tom and Jerry. Whatever sameer tries turns up against him thanks to sunny who emerges trumps in each situation. All this keeps going on in the movie interspersed by wonderful songs which are a visual treat on the big screen and things shape interestingly towards the climax.
The music of this movie is already a hit. The title song’’Mujhse Shadi karogi’’ has got a nice beat and is quite catchy.’’Jeene ke hain chaar din’’ is the first song in the movie and is a typical salman khan number which is good again. ’’Aaja Soniye’’ is the bhangra number in the movie and has been picturized and chore0graphed very well. You can expect to hear this song in wedding ceremonies as it’s got a great tune , good for tapping your feet on.’’Laal Dupatta’’ and ’’Rab kare’’ are the best picturized songs of the lot where the use of colors in the clothes and sets is simply astounding.
The comedy itself is great and though you may not laugh at every single joke , I’m sure there will be times in the movie where you will hold your stomach and try unsuccessfully to control your laughter. The scenes between Amrish Puri and salman khan are the highlight of the movie whereas Akshay Kumar’s antics will keep u laughing all the way.
Performance wise, it has been a very good perfomance by Salman Khan who seems to be getting himself in position to get an award very soon. ’’Tere Naam’’, ’’Baghban’’ and ’’Garv’’ are the movies in which Salman Khan displays he’s not just a chest baring hero but knows how to act as well. Two thumbs up for Salman as he’s looking great in the movie as well. I wasn’t expecting Akshay Kumar to be that good but he surprised me by giving a wonderful performance at par with that of Salman Khan.
Even some people might find Akshay’s acting to be better. Priyanka Chopra delivers a decent enough performance and justifies the femme fatale character. In the supporting case, Amrish Puri is just great, Kader Khan manages to give you the laughs and Satish plays a very funny and comparatively shorter role. Yadav has a double role in the movie and is more effective as the astrologer than the eagle gang member. Overall, good performance by everybody! Exactly what’s needed for a hit.
Besides all these things, there are other features in the movie as well.
The matrix inspired scenes where you will be Salman in bullet time and one occassion where he fights several Akshay Kumars have been slickly executed and will add to the glamour of the movie. The hit song’’Kaanta Laga’’ has also been featured in the movie with a funny dance by Akshay and I forgot the ladyz name , , Zaf sth , , besides the song, she is also part of a prank Akshay plays on Salman. Now if all these things were not enough , the interesting finale takes place in a cricket stadium where you will see stars from the indian cricket team alongwith Kapil Dev, Sidhu and Sajid. Comments from Sidhu , Kapil Dev and the indian cricketers will definitely make you laugh out as you don’t see them everyday in such roles.
Bottomline: It’s a hit movie. If you are looking to have a great great time and feel good , laugh a lot, see the beautiful beaches of Mauritius, witness excellent picturization and sleek direction from the introduction right down to the credits( where funny clips during the movie’s shooting make sure you keep laughing even after the end of the movie) ......then go watch this film BUT keep in mind this is not an issue based or sex based serious movie so kindly don’t try to see it as one! See it as a comedy movie and you will enjoy to your money’s worth!
