STORY PLOT -
Mukkabaaz is a sport base movie directed by Anurag Kashyap and written by lead actor of movie Vineet Kumar who played the role Shravan Kumar . Mukkabaaz is neither a Indian version of Rocky nor Ranging Bull which can quite easily be called "Boxing Movies".
Mukkabaaz Shows that poltics of sport and sport in small cities work.
The story of Mukkabaaz is from a small city of Uttar Pradesh, Bareliy. Shravan Kumar who is not much educated but he want to be a boxer. For this he takes training from Barellliy’s dashing boxing coach, Bhagwan Das Mishra(Jimmy Shergil). Rather the giving training he does the work of his home and his service to the participants. Sharvan is not approved one he knocked out Bhagwan Das with a punch after it Bhagwan Das threatens Sharvan not to become career in boxing after making a mind to destroy his career, become involved in obstacles in his way. At the same time, Bhagwaan niece Sunayna(joya Hussain), Who can hear but not speak . At first glance, Sharvan dies on his face.
Bhagwan Das does not allow him to take any tournament on his strength. An officer advise him to go to Banaras. Where the coach Sanjay Kumar(Ravi Kishan) recognize his talent . The coach feels that if hard work can be done then Sharvan become a National champion. After wining the district tournament Sharvan get job in Railways. Sharvan And Sunayana get married against Bhagwan Das wishes. But this is not acceptable to Bhagwan das, so Bhagwan Das create conspiracy to exclude hearing from National Championship.
Casting is playes an important role in making Mukkabaaz very effective. Talking about acting Vineet Kumar put his whole life in the character of Sharvan his hard work is look clear on the screen. Joya Hussain’s charectar is an dumb girl, so he done lot of hard work. Ravi Kishan done a powerful performence and feel his presence. Jimmy Shergil excellent in nagetive role.
Cinemography and song music is fine according to the film mood.
Music Composer Rachita Arora, Dj Nuclei and divine are eligible for a special mention for the sound track.
It issues a message that is most relevant in today’s world.
The film’s story is a bit longer and the second half is a bit weaker than the first half of the Movie.
