Reply to Good Airport

I would say Bombay airport is one of the worst in the country. This after travelling thru the International & Domestic terminals extensively.Let me concentrate on International only.

1)It can’t handle the huge passenger volume. The airport is choked and bulging at it’s seams.

2)It’s the people who come to recieve their friends and relatives that block other passengers from moving in or out.Chaos is the order of the airport.

3)Mention not, the touts that man the airport...in the name of Customs. They are absolutely ignorant of their duties and aim to squeeze something out of everyone.Even if you are importing a bottle of wine, they need a share of that.

4)Even the porters there demand in Dollars (for doing their duty)...baggage check and tagging and trolley service.

5)Prices of items increase as you pass thru different levels(Check-In, Emigration, Security).Imagine a bottle of water at the departure lounge costs Rs 110....extortion.No other international aurport have the same double standards.

6)The counters at the arrival hall are manned by hooligans. There’s no one to control the excessive rates they charge for the Taxi or Bus or even a hotel. The rates comes down the moment you start bargaining.

In general, the notion at Mumbai International is, ’’Yeh International traveller hai, paisa bahut hai ’’.

International traveller doesn’t necessarily mean I part with my hard earned money with these ’’Goondas’’.

It’s high time some cleansing is done in all the airports(Chennai is managed relatively well).
