Cast- John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sunil Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Amole Gupte, Ronit Roy, Samir Soni
Director & Producer- Sanjay Gupta
Plot- The film which stars Emraan and John in lead roles going head to head with each other in the extension of the movie which Sanjay Gupta has done already several times. The movie starts with Johns characters rise and fall from an ordinary man to a criminal to provide himself and his brother a better future and rule Mumbai. The movie is based in 80s to 90s era when Mumbai was known as Bombay. John and his gang does every criminal things they can to establish a name in Bombay and in between John crosses path with an encounter specialist Emraan who does everything he can to eliminate Rao(John). The cat and mouse chase and the politics involved in the system forms the story of Mumbai Saga.
Good Aspects-
This film is a John Abraham show. The film which is based on true events follows by more or less the journey of Rao played by John, so most of the heavy lifting had to be done by him and this movie had some moments where I was little surprised by his acting because to be honest, he has just created his angry cop or villain image in the industry.
Emrans cheeky laughter and smug look at every fight scenes make it so amazing for the audience to get entertained throughout the action scenes. However, it is not a role which will be remembered for a long time.
The actor who was constantly making me happy engaging throughout the movie was Amol Gupte. He was phenomenal and did full justice to his role. He was so effortless in his comic scenes.
Underwhelming Aspects-
There was a time when I was literally waiting to witness Sanjay Guptas movies because of the outstanding gangster movies he has done in the past though almost every movie was inspired from International movies, this time while I watched the movie, I thought that I have already seen the movie, there is nothing new and I am just seeing the movie with a different cast.
Dialogues & Music- There is no such hard hitting dialogues in this movie unlike other Sanjay Guptas every other movies where you just get goosebumps after listening any hard dialogues. The songs are just bad and unnecessarily put in between sub plots.
Conclusion- To be honest, I was not expecting a lot from this movie after seeing the trailer, so I cant even say that I am disappointed. There are some scenes which you might enjoy but this is definitely not a movie which you can see and enjoy a lot of times so if you have time, you can watch the movie for the sake of watching some brilliant acting by some underrated gems in the industry.
