WooooW is the only expression this movie deserves! Just wait a minute.its not love story.its not packed with sexy songs.its not with big stars.and yet its a big hit.its one of the best movie ever made.Lets look why this movie is watched by so many.yes.my malayali neighbour has seen this movie thrice.my telugu friend has seen it twice.and my mom who is diebetic feels sobbing at the end a real pleasure, she had two such pleasures and is longing for another one/two if I buy her tickets !
Firstly, this movie is about reality in true sense, I found this movie as a moral story made fantastically. The proverb at the end "Preethi Madura, Thyaga amara" reverberates in everyones mind for several days after seeing the movie "Love is great, Sacrifice is ultimate and long lasting"(I bet exact translation is diffcult!). The movie without doubt can be enjoyed by a 5 yr old kid or even a 90+ old man. The acceptance of this movie by so many people is just bcos of howreal the strory is in present society and the peoples liking for the anti-climax at the end(Sacrifice wins over Love)!
Story: A love story tuned into moral story, I request the reader to watch the movie, if you dont understand Kannada get one pal and watch it this week-end - without fail! To outline I should say its all about real sacrifice for the sake ofself-conscience and elders. Luckily, I never knew the climax nor story in full before going to the movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it(and credit to my ignorance).
Cinematography: Simply awesome, youll feel the monsoonscent right in your seat.
Songs: Simply awesome!
Music: Simply awesome!
Total package: Simply awesome!
Stars: No stars here, hero is new Ganesh(a comedy show host), Heroin(Sanjana Gandhi) is new to Kannada. Both are potrayed well, heros work is laudable given the fact this is his first movie. His comedy back ground shines well in the movie, it keeps your facial wrinkles tight all through 2+ hours.
I see less than 5 Kannada movies per year and this one is the BEST Kannada movie ever. There are numerous art movies made in Kannada which are ofcourse very good but many dont even run for few days bcos of low commercial value in them.
Telugu version of MM is already in the making(the Director Yograj Bhat sold the rights for about 30 crores to Telugu director). I expect MMs in all languages within a year or so.
Bye for now!
