Munna bhai M.B.B.S reminds us of Robin Williams Patch Adams... the story of a doctor trying to cure his patients, not by medicine, but by love and affection.
The Story
Munnabhai (Sanjay Dutt) runs away from his village home and lands up in Mumbai. He and his assistant, Circuit (Arshad Warsi) are famous gangsters of Mumbai, who kidnap people and charge ransom. Munnas father Sri Hari Prasad Sharma (Sunil Dutt) believes that his son is a doctor and that he runs a hospital by his name. But he gets a shock when he comes to know that his son is a gangster and not a doctor. Munna then decides to become a doctor at the citys top medical college. But he believes in treating patients with love and compassion (pyaar ki jhappi), instead of medicines and surgeries. The plot of the film has been adapted from Patch Adams. The film revolves around Munnas urge to become a doctor, his childhood sweetheart Chinky (Gracy Singh) and her father (Boman Irani).
Plus Points

-The film has been successful in bringing out the heart in Mumbais dons.
-The songs, espescially Subah Ho Gayee, are quite pleasant to listen to.
-Bringing Sunil Dutt to films once again was a good job.
-Arshad Warsi seemed quite befitting in his character.
-Boman Irani and Gracy Singhs performance were also good.
Minus Points
Interestingly, there isnt any negative point about this film.
My Views
The film combines the underworld with a medical student pretty well. The languages used goes pretty well to define the comic sequences in the film. Jimmy Shergill wasnt required in the film. Anyone could do that role. He didnt arouse any extra sympathy. Overall, the film is well scripted and well written. Its a must see for anybody and everybody.
