Munnar Inn is centrally located in the heart of the town, on the busy entry road to the city. Just next to the hotel are located Kannan devan tea outlet (Tata) and a variety of local food joints to taste the authentic local stuff. Bus stand and taxi stand are also at a walk able distance.
Hotel staff is very cooperative with an excellent hospitality and service quality. Complementary breakfast is good with a great variety of Indian and continental stuff. They also have a small food court attached, a restaurant and a spice shop with in the premises. A delux or super delux room is idle for medium size family. Considering the central location and service quality it’s a great value for money for large & small families. May not be the best option for newly married couples and romantic partners.
Traveling from ernakulam we took a taxi to munnar which is recommended as you can the enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding tea states on the way and even can capture it in your cameras. State run buses are also available from Ernakulam every hour or two to & fro Munnar till 3:pm.
Must Visit Spots.
KannanDevan Tea Museum, it’s the oldest tea factory now run by Tata.
Matupatty dam – Nothing more enjoyable than a speedboat ride here which is a must.
SpiceGarden – Great place to have a closer look at exotic spices and their plantation. One may find lot of foreign tourists at this place.
Flower Nursery – Fine variety of flowers. A nice place to take some photographs of some flora & fauna.
Attukal (9 km from Munnar)- It’s a natural waterfall with great view.
Beside these places I would recommend a walk round the city, have a look at local market, Church, Temple and also do enjoy the spice flavored tea and hot vada at local tea stall.
