Gods own country... Need I say more

If you know of a better place to lose your heart to... please don’t tell me for I lost mine to Munnar... Lush green on all sides with beautiful hills and seductive morning mist, this lovely town in Kerala would steal your heart much the same way a dream lover would... Don’t believe me? go there and find out for yourself..

Getting there: Munnar is reachable by road, its almost 4 hours drive from Cochin or 7 hrs from Trivendrum. There are buses availble in all hues or if you want a private outing Cars and SUVs are available from Cochin. The route takes you through some of the most scenic hills in the region and is most certainly worth the drive.

Where to Stay: Lots of places to fit all pockets from large budget groups to fully loaded couples with pockets deeper than Mariana Trench to tight fisted backpackers. Just time your visit well so as to not to land up in the middle of the tourist rush (don’t ask me when is that I was lucky enough to avoid it)

What to do: Lots of places to visit within and around Munnar... there is Chinnar wildlife sanctury almost an hour’s drive away(Elephants and leopards are the major attraction there), pullaivasal waterfalls, echo point, the local hydel sites (boating water sports etc) and of course the lush green tea gardens of Munnar. At night it would be great to huddle around a bonfire and enjoy a hot coffee or a few pegs of Vodka. Before you know your holiday would be over and it would be time to head home. With a heavy heart and a lighter pocket I bade farewell to Munnar and vowed that someday I will return with lot more time and film rolls. I Just hope that the day is soon enough and before the town becomes a congested commercialized tourist hot spot.
