Depeche Mode 101 is a live tour that includes a tour bus of teens that win a contest and follow the band to each concert. The 101 tour is a compilation of their hits up to 1987 from Music for the Masses. The movie gives me goose bumps every time I watch it. Only a true DM fan can really enjoy this film. If all you know is Policy of Truth and Enjoy the Silence....you may want to do some catching up before diving into this. Then again, you may find the band strikes your fancy after hearing a few tracks.
Ive been listening to DM from day one. With the release of Speak & Spell in October of 1981, the band struck oil with a new sound and style. The hit Just Cant Get Enough from this LP started the band on the road to success. Many other songs from this LP were big hits in the UK.
People are People was a huge hit in 1984. This song spoke the details of war, race, and everyday life. Most of their songs are full of wisdom, and heartfelt phrases. The band did an awesome remake of Route 66 to plot the road trip they were taking to each City. The tour ended in Pasadena California in Rose Bowl Stadium where they entertaining over 60, 000 fans.
