This is a review of the TAMA HP 200 TW twin bass pedal. For all those double bass drummers out there, this pedal is the answer to your prayers. I bought one a couple of months ago and it simply rocks.

The 200 TW is the lower priced cousin of the more famous IRON COBRA series but performs just the same nonetheless. It features the same offset cam system that the IRON COBRAs use so it feels just the same as well. I got a good chance to make a comparison between the two since I got to use both of the pedals during the same jam session. The good thing was that I was using the pedals on a Pearl kit so I really could get the best out of them(of course, upto the limit of my capabilities!). Unless youre aware of what youre playing, you actually feel no difference between them so Id suggest going for the 200 TW since it costs almost half what the IC does. If youre serious about buying one of these, Id suggest you dont waste your time looking for them in India since I was and I couldnt find either so I did the wise thing - waited till I got to the US and bought it here. One more advantage of getting someone in the US to buy it for you is that it costs much less than what youd pay for it in India. A WorldMax in India would cost you around Rs 10K and if you actually converted the dollar price of the HP 200, it works out even less. I paid$180 which is slightly less than 9K Indian bucks. So you see the point now. Moreover, almost everyone in Indias got a friend in the US who comes home at least once a year so the most youd have to wait for your pedal would be a year, but trust me, its worth the wait! And oh, it ships with an IRON COBRA carrying case thats really good for carrying the pedal around in, and your ego too, of course!
Go for it, you wont regret it.
