Summary

My Own Prison - Creed
Mar 21, 2001 10:02 AM, 2336 Views
One of 1997's best rock albums

I got into Creed with this album, My Own Prison, back in 1997 with there hit single, ’My Own Prison’. This is of course their debut album. Not too many bands can get so big from thier debut albums like Creed did. All of the songs on this classic album have their own little meaning and/or message behind them. Their is some real, deep, and seriousness to each song. What’s popular out there now and days is the metal/rap music like Korn and Limp Bizkit. Creed is very different from that, which is one of the reasons I fell in love with this talented band. Their heavy rocking, original music is just so brilliant.

Scott, the sexy lead singer, has such an incredible voice that will send you chills sometimes. He has a very unique, deep voice that kicks the music up to a whole new, better level and he is such a genius at writing those wonderful https://lyrics. You can tell he puts a lot of work into the music.

I will give you some details on several songs off the album. These songs alone are worth buying the album for.

The first song, ’Torn’, has a darkness to it. Especially when it starts. It begins slow, then picks up here and there in the song. This tune has very cool https://lyrics. ’Torn’ is definitely one of my favorites, mainly due to the https://lyrics. Scott is almost driven when he sings this song. He’s really into the moment I guess you can say.

The sixth song on the album is ’Illusion’. This is a different approach than ’Torn’. It has a slightly happier, heavy rock beat to it. Mark, the guitarist, does an amazing job with the guitar riffs. It has a nice, fast beat.

’Unforgiven’ is the seventh song on the album. This is my current favorite off the album. It has a very fast, heavy, but not real heavy beat. The lyrics are very good. Scott does a great job keeping up with the fast beat singing. The main thing I love about this tune is the crazy guitar riffs by Mark.

Here’s the list of songs you’ll find on this great album.

  1. ’Torn’

  2. ’Ode’

  3. ’My Own Prison’

  4. ’Pity For a Dime’

  5. ’In America’

  6. ’Illusion’

  7. ’Unforgiven’

  8. ’Sister’

  9. ’What’s This Life For’

  10. ’One’

’My Own Prison’ is the best album from Creed so far, although that only have two albums out. It is a very deep, hard rocking, well written up album. Definitely the best album from ’97 in my opinion. This is still a very popular album. The singles ’Torn’, ’My Own Prison’, ’One’, and ’What’s This Life For’ still get played a lot on the radio stations where I live. If you don’t own either Creed album and will be getting one soon, get this one first. It’s their debut and definitely their best. Creed is one of the greatest, hardest working bands out there today and they prove it on this amazing album.
