My favourites

I’ve read a number of great reviews on this subject and I thought maybe I could add a two pence bit of my own. I’d like to break my ten websites into two sections:-

  1. Use based- these are the websites I use regularly for my own work

  2. Entertainment - Places I love going to and spending time whenever I can.

In the Use- based I’d have to list:-

  1. Rediffmail.com- I really do think it’s the best free mail service around. Lightning fast with 6 mb off space it really beats the hell out of any kind of competition.

  2. Google.com- Clearly the best search-engine going. The advanced options really allow you to narrow down your results. Ask anyone who’s done an MBA how useful this site really is.

  3. CNN.com- the very best when it comes to international news. No two ways about it.

  4. Rediff.com- excellent and prompt coverage of everything happening in India.

In the entertainment section I’d have to list:-

  1. Yahoo.com -You have to hand it to these guys. They really have created a portal which gives you everything. From shopping to chatting to games; you name it they have it. If ever you don’t know what to do on a long lonesome evening log onto yahoo and I can guarantee the fact that you’ll find something to do and enjoy doing it too.

  2. Ebay.com- If you’re a bargain hunter like I am you’ll love this place. However the drawback is that not every user is ready to ship stuff to India. And if they do then they sure charge you for it. But it is a great site where you can pick up almost everything. One tip- every buyer or seller out there has a documented background or history; read that before you actually strike a deal with one of them.

  3. Onion.com- I really can’t classify this site. You have to check it out to believe it. However if you do like to see the funny side to news log in immediately.

  4. Imdb.com- If you want to watch a movie but don’t really know which one to see just log onto imdb.com. It has everything you ever wanted on movies. I really can’t say much more for this site.

  5. Cricinfo.com- A brilliant site covering everything to do with cricket. I spend hours at a time on this site whenever I log in.
