Mysore Mystery

It is a real mystery to me how I managed to visit Mysore 6 times. I am living in bangalore for the past 3 yrs and have visited 6 times, sometimes alone, sometimes with my wife and sometimes just for a weekend pleasure alone in my Bullet.

Still, I am not tired with the city. Whenever I go, I stay in hotel SCVDS, beside woodland theatre in the heart of the city, opposite palace and my favorite place to eat in is hotel parklane. I like their foodyyyyy stuff. I can go several times just for that parklane, a drink and their special sizzler, .............wow !!!! I think I will visit this weekend again.

Regarding the tourist attraction, anyone can get guidence from the net. there are a lot of places to hang in around. My personal fav is sangam. That’s the place where people does "tarpan" to their forefathers or come to wash away the mortal remains of their beloved. Sitting idle for hours in the gardens of Daria Daulat bagh and Gumbaz are my fav past times.

Has anyone seen the ganesh statue in the walls of the masjid, inside the fort, or has anyone seen the watermarks of the watergate or anyone seen the 6 parallel holes in the wall of the broken fort which gives straight vision without requiring your nech bending? There will be many such things in those broken walls and jungles. The broken palace still might be hosting wealth of tipu and that’s why security personnel will be there.

The ranganathaswamy temple hosts the tunnel upto the palace and the bailey’s duncan, the tunnel has been closed.

There used to be a tunnel from the palace to the watergate, which was hidden, for safe passage during emergency.

Each and every place has got a history there and that drives me on the 160km many a times.

My wife got tired of Mysore, but I didn’t. Still now, whenever I visit ooty/coorg/shivasamudram, I try to stay there and feel the ambience of the city within. It has got something coming right out of the history.

The last attraction is the road. The only stretch from bangalore apart from tumkur road/NH7 where you can pass 100 easily. Nh7/Nh4 even doesn’t offer that comfort and relaxation.
