Where can you learn more about a strangers taste in music, sense of self-promotion and nightly activities outside of a novel? MySpace of course! The navigational ease and overall aesthetic of the networking site is superior to Friendster and FaceBook. Bonus points for allowing people to write profiles/odes/slams for their bands, their projects and if Im not mistaken, their friends hairpieces. I must admit, its primary draw could also be a weakness. I go on MySpace to comment on the blogs and profiles of the friends I already have. I have used the connections to meet new people but those people are ones I would have met anyway since theyre friends of friends. So MySpace has some similarities to the clique-like alliances you can see from looking at who gets photographed most in a yearbook. But who cares when you can add up friends like the number of M & Ms youve eaten during studying? Thanks Friend Tom!
