The restaurant advertised 20% discount to Citibank Card holders.
However, upon presentation of the bill and payment by Citibank Card, no discount was given at Naivedyam, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi. When I questioned the manager, he states that it has to be told in advance that the payment will be made by Citibank card. Nowhere it was stated that the card holder has to state that in advance that he holds a citicard. Anyhow, the merchant never gave an opportunity to the customer and presented the bill immediately.
Is it not the job of the restaurant to deduct discount and then charge the card? The manager further stated that 15% discount is offered on SBI cards, but that has not been displayed anywhere. If there is an agreement with the bank to offer discount to its customers, the onus is on the merchant to offer that discount upon presentation of the card.
This place is simply cheating its customers by not making enough disclosures.
