Myself and my hubby went to the MTR restaurant and ordered for a take away chapati and paneer sandwich. As we were waiting for our order to be prepared, we witnessed the way the cook/waiter was preparing the paneer sandwich. Here’s how he did it:-
He took a pair of plastic gloves and used only one to put it on his left hand. He then started preparing the sandwich using his right hand (the one without any gloves). Half way through, a few customers wanted some coffee. So he stopped making the sandwich and proceeded to make the coffee. He used his right hand and took a dirty looking cloth to wipe the table where the coffee is made. All the way thorough he used his right hand to take the mugs, sugar etc etc. After serving the customers with coffee, he continued making the sandwich. Mind it, that too without any gloves or without washing his hand.
In between making the sandwich, he wiped his forehead twice using his right hand. Boy! Was that a gross sight!
After he was done, another person took over and gave the sandwich to us.
My hubby called the sandwich making person and reprimanded him on his unhygenic way of preparing food. We wanted to speak to the manager. However, that guy said that the manager was unavailable.
Ever since, we have not stepped into that restaurant.
Gross!
