The Problem
My brother in law, Mr. Budhadev Raha(patient Id: 1751000901747) was admitted to RN Tagore or Rabindranath tagore hospital on 05.02.2020 with heart valve issues. He needed replacements for 2 valves and 1 valve to be repaired. He was admitted under Dr. Lalit Kapoor who is considered to be one of the best as cardiac surgeon for Valve operation.
The Story
His operation was scheduled for 10th February, 2020. On 07th Feb, 2020, his teeth had to be implanted. But suddenly his breathing trouble restarted on 8.02.2020. He had to move to the ITU. We thought there would be a delay in the operation. But with our utter surprise the doctors agreed to do the operation on 10th February, 2020. After the operation he had been transferred to ventilation which is a part of the process. But they removed the ventilator after 10 hours, which surprised all of us. The doctor, I mean the greatest Lalit Kapoor told us that he will be released within 4- 5 days. But on 13th Feb, he again had to be moved to the ventilator with severe breathing trouble. Although he was breathing by his own for 2 days(From 11th - 13th Feb). The doctors started saying the the condition is critical. He never came back from ventilator since that day. Everyday their report was, "things will improve, give us some time". It happens to 30% of the patients. He will recover and that will take some time. On 20th Feb, 2020 he had Tracheostorny and on 22nd Feb, 2020 he was declared dead.
Questions
1) Why a patient of ITU who had such a severe breathing trouble was operated on the scheduled date2) According to them the lung was clear. So they started operation. So what happened that his lung got infected after the operation3) They always said that "Wait, he will recover, but will take time". They told us he will be under ventilation for 6 - 7 days and then his heart may start pumping again. They took exactly 7 days after the statement to declare him dead?4) Was there intention to do business? They knew that the operation cant be successful, they just took on a chance, if it clicks then also they will get the money, if it doesnt click then also they will get the money?5) As per the report his CReactive was very high 2900(Normal Range: 0 - 10). What kind of infection was that? They told us that it was due to the infection that he carried in ITU!6) Dr. Lalit Kapoor always tried to avoid us. He was replaced by Dr Debraj, Mr. Rakesh. Once we went to meet Dr. Lalit Kapoor, but he didnt meet us, he escaped us in the name of some urgent patient inquiry.7) The support staffs of RN Tagore or Rabindranath Tagore Hospital are very rude. They will never give you any report. They feel irritated as if we have done something very wrong asking for our patients status. May be it was told to the team by Lalit Kapoor(The best cardiologist for valve replacement) and his so called right and left hand doctors, that dont share any reports with the patient party.8) We think a) they knew that it is a very risky operation. They just had to operate which is good. b) There has been some undetected disease which they found during Operation c) The operation was unsuccessful, that was the reason for that continuous breathing problem after the surgery also.

Dont go for the positive reviews. Those are created by their online marketing team. This is a real review and a real incident. We lost our brother in law who went to the hospital to save his life. He didnt require any stretcher or wasnt admitted to emergency. He went there walking himself. We lost him. We are shocked. But we just want to warn all the readers that dont trust on these type of doctors. They will just admit you and operate, take his money and go.
