This review is about National Panasonic MX AC 300 S and other mixer grinders with double safety lock systems.
Can you write a review without even buying a product? Well read on and decide yourself.
We had a National mixer bought 12 years ago, and its performance was good.
Now we decided to buy a new one, and read many reviews about it in Mouthshut.com, and decided to become a repeat customer for panasonic.
We saw the latest product(MX AC Series) which was released around 1.5 years ago, and decided NOT TO BUY the product. Why?, fine read on.
1. In the old mixer, we found it very cumbersome and irritating to clean the jar lid and washer/gasket. It is very difficult to remove the washer. Even though a small provision has been made in the new mixer to remove the washer, the problem still exists. (Philips HL 1643 has a better washer than this).
2. We never wanted a double safety lock system. We never felt the need for such a thing. In the new mixer, there are lot of parts/components in the Jar and Lid for providing this locking system. Hence it becomes very difficult to maintain it. It becomes very difficult to clean the same. The dough/batter will enter into the holes of the locking system. Hence cleaning will be irritating.
*3. As there are more no. of parts in the locking jar, it might give problem every now and then. When I never wanted a locking jar, why should I buy such a Mixer and invite problem? The chances of locking jar getting damaged seems to be high. And if the jar and lid are not locked properly, the mixer dont even start!.
- We also saw a Jucier Jar of Panasonic. It did not had any locking jar but a regular simple jar. We wanted a similar jar for mixer-grinder and not the locking one. But it was not available,
5. In the present mixer that we have got, in all the jars, the gap between the bottom-of-the-blade and the bottom-of-the-jar is more. This makes the mixer unfit to use for grinding small quantity, because the item/masala easily passes between the blade and the jar. This point is not taken care of in the new MX AC also.(However in the Philips Small Jar, the blade almost touches the bottom-of-the-jar. Hence grinding small quantity of masala items etc becomes very very easy)
We wrote a mail to Panasonic about all these problems. There was not even an acknowledgement leave alone a reply.
Eventhough we have decided on Philips HL 1643, we have not yet bought it. We will do it, after reading your comments.
