Nehru Science Center, in loving memory of Shri Jawaharlal Nehru has been built in Worli, Mumbai. The center is not a history and geography of science but natural phenomenas and current progress everything is displayed there. I visited it 2 weeks back.
At the entrance, there were three departments – Aquarium, Auditorium and the creative thinking hall. All the contributions of legendary scholars are mentioned and even demonstrated. Einstein’s theory is applied in real life and there is alot to read about him. Dont be shocked to know some of the amazing facts which are still hidden from the general public. Science competitions are a part of the ongoing exhibition.
Crowded as always keeps it lively. Old instruments and vocals are shown and readily available for use. Children can easily find this their own picnic spot. With wide open grounds and lavish canteens to serve and chill. Demonstrations are too cool and you can easily replicate it at home. With BMI measurement to power strength and technic overhaul, its a great pass time. Given Sundays are full of family plans and why not visit a center. Going to Seaface is cool but it is always wise to be updated with the LATEST trends in market. Auditorium has science real time movies and senior scientist lectures, demonstators explaining each and every concept of reality. Games is what one would look for during long trips and ther is plenty there. Newtons 3 LAWS OF MOTION have been pictorical and experimentally demonstated in public. Government has also started a Development center to promote fresh talent and help them get experience.
There are tech fest, where competitions like technical paper presentation, experiments, theories, conferences, contests all take place. It is not recommended to see all the three departments in 1 day for the sole sake of enjoyment. The canteen has nonVeg and Veg available to help everyone at cheap rates. The ticketing rates are around Rs 40/- for each Department. Aquarium is a live to the Sea water type analysis of different fishes swimming and what water life is all about. There is even an Octopus like creature and a cute little Dolphin to enhance the beauty. All kinds of fish are found in the pool with gills and the kind of maintainance is awesome. The security is beefed up with armed man and CCTV cameras all around. Garbage baskets are available everywhere thereby not giving the public a chance to throw garbage. Overall a must see experience.
