If you have followed my website ( http://www.bobbysdomain.com) through its updates You would have noticed that with each revision my mail address changes.( I hereby take the opportunity to that all my friends especially my cousin S for putting up with me and my million addresses.
Frankly, it was very difficult choosing the perfect service. If the features were great, the speed sucked (Hotmail take note) and vice versa. Well no more. Enter netaddress.com. Yeah, I know it has been around for quite some time now and yeah it was stupid of me not to try it before. Read on to see how it impressed me.
Signup process
The signup was pretty straight forward and fast. No unnecessary questions were asked. Most of the popular names are taken (hey, bobbyonline@usa.net isn’t bad is it?)
. If you get the get the name of your choice the next page is the subscription page. I suggest you UNCHECK all the check boxes. Trust me. After that you are asked to enter your password to login for the first time.
The interface
NA has a clean interface (well almost). The page consists of three frames. The left on holds the navigation links, the right one displays the content and the top frame displays ads. That is smart designing since you don’t have to wait for the ads to load to see the content.
Features
All the regulars are there - address book, folders, signatures, filters etc. There are some additional features worth mentioning. The one I like (and use) the most is the ’ quick address book’ (It has to be enabled from the options menu) which lists all the contacts in your address book in a list box making it easier to recall addresses. You can even export your address book to popular mail program formats like Eudora and outlook. The stationary list allows you to decorate your messages.
Basic services
Collecting
With the Collecting feature you can collect messages from multiple email addresses and forward them to your Net@ddress account so you can read them in one central location. Please note that the Collecting feature is not possible if your mail host is not compliant with Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3).
Scheduling
Schedule messages to be sent to yourself or others on a one-time, daily, weekly, or even yearly basis to remind you of important dates, such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and meetings.
Junk mail blocker
With the Junk Mail Blocker you can eliminate unwanted messages. This feature allows you to automatically delete messages based on subject, sender, recipient, mail type and/or mail receipt time.
Vacation reply
With Vacation Reply you can create a message that will be sent automatically in response to all incoming mail received during a specified time period. The Vacation Reply feature does the work for you while you’re off playing!
Folder storage
You can create filters that will route your mail to a specified folder. Folder Storage helps organize all incoming mail for easy reference and retrieval at a later time.
History
It can be vitally important to know when you sent or received a specific message. The History feature lets you view a historical summary of your incoming and outgoing email by date, sender and recipient, or subject.
Speed
I ditched Hotmail because its slow and blotted, just like their software. I wouldn’t say that NA is fast but it the speed is consistent and when the mood is right u can even blaze through. If the server is being turned down for maintenance you will be notified well in advance. Your mail will still be collected.
But don’t take my word for it. Signup and feel the ecstasy of checking your mail on time for the first time in your life.
