Consulate of Netherlands
Hello friends,
Our Anxious moments+ Thousands of instructions +Confusions = Consulate of any country
This is some which will be useful to many people who are going to Europe for the first time on Schengen Visa.
We need to have Schengen Visa for travel in Europe.
- Schengen Visa (VSU):
This type of visa allows the holder to travel freely within the entire Schengen territory (Austria, Belgium, France, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain & Sweden). It is issued for a maximum period of 90 days, for a single or multiple entries.
Schengen visas (VSU) are issued by the consular office of the country of principal destination or the country of longest stay. In cases where it is not possible to identify the principal destination (e.g. multi-country tours), the visas will be issued by that Schengen country which is the first point of entry into Schengen territory.
Schengen visas (VSU) are issued for any of the following purposes:
business, medical treatment, sports competitions, invitation, self-employment, employment, official mission, religious, study, airport transit (*), transit , transportation, tourist.
Indian passport holders do not require an Airport Transit Visa.(Except Germany now-a-days)
So here we go for Netherlands consulate..

Mumbai Office(My personal Experience)
Only first 30 numbers are accepted in a day.(This is THE worst part)
I have seen people coming from Bangalore to Mumbai for Visa and had to come back again on the next day because of this restriction. This consulate do not have any appointment or token system.
Be there at 4:00 am sharp so you will get number in 1-10.Before 6:30 am, all the 30 numbers are over.
Even if you are 31st person in the line, you will not be allowed to go inside due to ‘30’ restriction.
If anybody in first 30 numbers is denied from granting a visa, then only your number can be forwarded and you can appear for the Visa process(Chances are very very low)
If you ask any agent to stand in the queue early in the morning on your behalf, then only you can come late otherwise no.
If you [ay agent some Rs.800/- then he will stand in queue for you but that is injustice for all the people who come all the way from Bangalore, Chennai for this.
You have to pay Rs.2000/- as Visa fees if you get chance to get inside (ofcourse!!) and then you are done…Come on next day between 3-4 pm and collect your passport.
I really do not understand why they are not using any appointment based system which is already in Netherlands consulate at Delhi.
In Delhi, you can take appointment in advance and then go on appointment date, so less hassles compared to Mumbai….
If you stay nearby Delhi then you are lucky otherwise be prepared for Mumbai office and do not miss the number between 1 to 30.
Drop me mail if you have any questions for Visa, Residence permit at Netherlands.I will be more than happy to help you.
I have tried to give realistic information so this time my review is not much crispy but utility also matters.. Right??
Let me know your views..
