This is a great movie but I really doubt that this can make a big impact in Indian movie lovers as it is based on an American tragedy and an another tragedy happened in USA. My views on the movie can be summerised as:
Story, Direction and screenplay:
In one word, truly awesome. The plot of this movie is based on 09/11 attacks. The research done for this movie is best for any Indian movie. Though most of the Indians can’t connect themselves with this movie as it is completely an American movie. All the details of the movie are nicely worked out.
The direction of this movie is very good. The director is successful in presenting a story and in taking the viewer right in the real environment prevailed at that time.
One thing I won’t understand that how many people in India understand how LAPD works, what is C4, the torturing done by Americans. My wife is with me and she keeps on asking me whether this really happen in America. The point here is for a movie to succeed in India it needs to connect with the audience which I really doubt for a general mass.
Also I wish to comment that I feel Americans are a coward lot. They actually feared a lot and to protect themselves from an imaginary disaster they tend to destroy the entire opposition. Take the example of Iran, Afghanistan, USSR. Do you guys know the people who are behind this 09/11 thing are being milked by the Americans themselves to fight with USSR. The Americans have trained them to fight and now they are attacking Americans also. Today their leader is the world’s most saught after terrorist but a couple of decades back he is working with the Americans against the USSR. The point here is Americans can go at any level to destroy anyone and later face trouble from it.
Acting and Starcast:
The stars of this movie are good. Especially John. I hated him in DOSTANA but this john is a lot better and nicely crafted for this role. The acting of almost all the actors is phenominal sparing Mr. Niel Nitin Mukesh. With due respect to him as a person I woul’d suggest him that acting is not his cup of tea. If there is an another better actor in this movie for his role then this movie should have reached another level of performance. There is one character in the movie who is being tortured by americans and he one time kills a LAPD cop. I loved hi acting. His role is very small but he executed it superbly. Now what to say about Katrina. She is really gorgeous but the story ends here. She can only be used as a glam doll and nothing else. She should now seriously try acting. I am a big fan of her beauty and brains (personally she is intelligent) but she needs to show some real acting on the screen. Above all the actors are good except one.
This movie is introduced after al long wait so it is bound to succeed as people are dying to watch a fresh movie. It also have all the elements of success but I still believe that this movie has greater acceptance on global arena.
Na more thing I woul’d like to discuss here is why America is facing the heat of terrorism. India is facing it due to a dispute with Pakistan on the border issue. But why America. I feel that the tendancy of America to try to be a ring master and try to run other nations on its conditions has ended Americans into this whole mess. I don’t understand that why america is interested in anything happeining in a country. If any country is having trouble with an another country why we find Americans over there with a ring master hunter. If the americans keep on dictating other nations do this and that one day or the other they will start repelling them.
Hope they will understand it.
