My Kinda Restaurant

Being a foodie I am always on the lookout for good restaurants. And the way I define good restaurants are :

  1. Those which serve food which tastes good and not like the standard fare which is offered by most restaurants.

  2. Apart from the quality of the food, Service is the second most important quality I value

  3. The ambience should be friendly and preferably easy on the eye

  4. The last but not the least it should be Kid friendly especially when I have a mischief mongering kid

This restaurant, which is the topic of this review is the ?New Yorker? on the JM road in Pune. I liked it from my first visit and it has lived up to my expectations till now. It offers a good mix of Indian (fast food as well as the full course) as well as Italian, Mexican cuisine.

Generally I prefer the Italian or Mexican and do recommend it. It offers us a choice of mixing different pasta/sauces/toppings, which suits me. Its also popular for its Pizza and having tried it I have not found it wanting unlike some of the other more popular Pizza joints. A word of caution to meat-lovers - It?s a Vegetarian joint.

I have found the ambience pleasing and the service to be prompt and courteous. It?s a place you can take your kid along. Thankfully I never had to stand in a queue however its enjoys a full house on weekends.

The pricing is a li’l expensive than a Udupi restaurant (thats my benchmark!) however if you ask me its moneys worth if you consider the service, the food and the ambience.
