We had got done abdominal sonography from Nidan in June 2019 which was conducted to confirm umbilical hernia. Apart from the hernia, the report was normal for all other internal organs including gall bladder. Looking at the report that there was no urgency and that surgery can be planned later. Accordingly we decided that we get the surgery done in December 2019.
Before the planned surgery, we were asked to get the sonography done once again by our doctor. We got the second sonography done on 16.12.2019 from Nidan which was performed. After seeing the sonography report, our doctor informed that as per the second sonography report there are multiple calculi in the gall bladder and that the largest one measures 8.9 mm. The first sonography had no findings about gall stones. It is highly unlikely that such gall stones develop in such a short period. Either the doctor who performed the first sonography has missed it or the doctor who performed the second sonography has messed up. This created unnecessary stress for us as it would be mandatory to perform a surgery to remove the gall stones before performing the umbilical hernia repair surgery. Our surgeon opined to get one more sonography done to confirm the gall stones. Accordingly, third sonography was done on 17.12.2019 from the hospital where we had planned for the surgery. Third sonography that we did at did not find any gall stones.
This confirmed that the second sonography done at Nidan was not done properly there by creating a lot of unwanted stress purely due to the negligence or inexperience of the doctor who performed the sonography.
We had written to Nidan about this, however they were least bothered to even acknowledge my complaint.
This is not expected from a reputed diagnostic center. Not sure whether one can rely on their reports.
