What a brilliant story, by one of America’s great writers, Nelson Demille. It was based on true events. I even remember the incidient when it happened, July 1996. There was a lot of news about it, and lots of cover-ups, too.
It all starts out nicely and secretly for Bud Mitchell and Jill Winslow have a steamy sex session the beach. And recording eveything they did. But then there was a terrible explosion in the sky and the camera recorded that too.
Grabbing the camera, the couple make their way out of the scene, just as police are on their way to investigate. They remain hidden and don’t know what to do. They realie they are in a deadly situation.
What if the truth came out of their juicy love affair? How would it make them look? What about the people that perished on that plane?
But 5 years later, for two people, (John Corey and Kate Mayfield) have not closed the case. They were caught in this together, and suspicious of a cover-up.
A great story not to be missed. The plot and characters are all so real and remarkable. Nelson Demille does it once again writing a great memorable, powerfu, emotive story based on true events.
