Presentation Skills
I enrolled for a 2 day course at NIIT Imperia for a training session in presentation skills, soft skills and how to give presentations to live audiences. And it was the best two days of my life. First of all, kudos to NIIT for their VSAT enabled tutorials, which I just can’t get enough of. Secondly, the presenter of the program, Anjali Vij, Evolv, was impeccable, and I had the best classroom with companions from Delhi, Gurgaon, Chennai, Bangalore and Pune attending.
The topic was engaging and we learnt the ropes and some technical details of presentations and soft skills related to that. Anjali, was a powerhouse of knowledge, and the whole concept of VSAT training, I must say, is an exciting technological discovery.
The first session saw us introduce ourselves and Anjali charted the way through the nitty-gritty of a presentation. To read you audience well, to interact with them, to know your subject well, to prepare your subject well and to apply the various types of presentations that exist to your use.
There was a lot of interaction between the ‘gyaan’ and we were also served some hot coffee and scrumptious brownies at the break. The second session saw us delve deeper into the importance of body language, confidence, intonation, pitch, volume of the voice and other profound details. The best was yet to come; we were all given topics to prepare and had to give 3.30 minute presentations. The topics ranged from exercise, to the complexities of computers, to the budget and I spoke on CSR, my pet topic that I intend to make a career of in the future!
It was a wonderful learning experience and I encourage all employees to attend NIIT Imperia lectures and seminars in the future. Great value for your time and money!
