NIIT a nightmare

Hey all well this time I am writing this review because I was upset with this company called NIIT, although I had faith in this company but it shattered my dreams badly, I don?t know weather it was me alone or others as well!!!

I joined NIIT, Rajouri Garden Center (not a franchise), New Delhi in year 1997 and I was serious with this company.. was always topping the chart, which can be presentation or exams or anything..

but to my surprise I was shocked when it came to PP i.e. called professional Practice a concept which NIIT thinks was good and it was actually good when it was launched.. just to make u guys bore let me explain u the feature of PP.

In professional practice the student is send for the interview in different companies and if selected would be undergo the job period on the stipend of 5k -10k per month for 1 year and that depends upon qualification, past experience if any and caliber, now here is the deal if you successfully complete the PP you get the complete GNIIT certificate or else ur screwed up. (I would let u guys know more regarding this!!!)

Some of the advantages, which I found after joining NIIT: -

  • The concept of presentation: - Every semester which is for a duration of 6 months is good, one has to give the presentation for the topics assigned to him or her and that brushes an grooms presentation skills and also helps one out to speak in public... trust me I am still using that skill.. Anyway thanx for that NIIT

  • Project: - Like any other institute one has to write the project (most of the time its copied) and again give the presentation for that.

  • Computerdrome: - the concept where one can book a machine for hrs together and then work on that (plz try to understand it was in 1997-1999)

support stuff: - probably a library which most of us in our center had access to that and that was one of the good thing which also includes manuals and other support stuff.

  • faculty: - Well this is a bit debatable topic because the faculties which I got were all good and had good knowledge and you would be shocked that I am still in touch with them and they are working in some reputed companies, although they have left NIIT

-class timings:- one of the feature which actually made NIIT stand different from others, the first batch used to start early morning at 7 and used to end by 10.00 in night.. and again 7 years ago.. and it was help full for those who were working and cannot spare time to get down for regular timing classes

now above were the advantages of being an NIITian and here we come with the major areas where NIIT was doing in bottoms.

Well before I proceed with that let me explain you that almost 7 years ago NIIT was the leading training institute which even forced its competitor to shut there shops but probably some where down the line NIIT screwed up and now what was that, I am not concerned with but here I am focusing on the loose points of NIIT.

-course material : - although material was self explanatory, (I still uses some of the books of NIIT to get a flash back) but then they used to change it within a period of 1 year and ever time it was changed it was getting shorter and hard to understand, they even rolled out the soft copy on CD which was all messed up

  • migration : - moving from one center to another....a big big pain.. trust me one can get a divorce easily rather migrating from once course to another or changing center!!!

  • PP (professional practice): - the idea with PP has already been explained before, now here are the flaws. Every batch which completes the last semester before PP had to under go thru interview rounds and then it is decided which category of job he would be best suitable as an intern.

now what happens is that placement coordinators they have there own targets so they try to hook guys in other small companies or with different profiles all together and I burnt the same heat.

I was never interested in development or administration but was more inclined towards MIS and when I was applying for MIS opening across, I was offered a job worth 5k in a call center!!!! The guys who are working in call center they know that 5k is not the right amount hence forth I declined the offer, at that point of time I was working with E-serve international, a Citibank?s domestic call center and they offered me job there..

Now that was weird and that too at low scale, which again I refused and finally they played a game with me and asked me to join Citibank international office which actually sounds pretty interesting and was a good package deal!! And I was on cross roads and I was left with no other option but to join that company and I screwed up my life I was told that there is nothing like MIS but its more like a secretary or peon kind of job and I was shocked and when I reported that issue I was told that it cannot be reverted and if I do not report my PP would stand cancelled and finally I had no other option but leave that company and join any other..

What I have found that the company and country goes in drain just because of the personal deed so was my carrier and relationship with NIIT, till date I am shocked and I have stop referring guys to NIIT.

These days NIIT is all screwed up and more or less does not exist in market any more. There was a division of NIIT called NIS, which in its own days was simply one of the best, but now it even does not exist.

So the problem was some where down the line with NIIT and today we have all sorts of sad story?s coming up regarding NIIT.

Any ways thanx for your time? and as usual comments invited
