When I was younger, I used to wear less expensive shoes. You know

from Walmart, or Zellers, either Cherokee, Sugi or cheaper

Reeboks. I continued this fad until I was in early junior

high school. At this point I was finding that my shoeware

was just not lasting very long. I was taking a variety of sports;

badminton, track and field, cross country running, soccer

and baseball. I needed a shoe that could handle all of my activities

and handle them for a decent amount of time. This is when I found

Nike.

Nike has many different styles, and colors. It is a tad

more expensive, but for its sheer quality it is worth it. They

make cross trainers, basketball shoes, casual shoes, running

shoes, walking shoes, and working shoes. They come in red,

brown, green, black, yellow, blue etc etc, you name it, they have

it. You can actually design your own shoes in some stores.

They come in a variety of sizes. Children’s to teenagers

to adults. They are available in a wide diverse variety.

Reebok makes DMX, NIke makes AIR. Technology such as Nike Air

for shoes and Nike Dri Fit for clothing is a new revolution

in fashion. They also make ACG shoes which stands for All

Conditioned Gear, for rugged outwear experiences. The newest Nike Shox have a great impact on your

ability. Of course there is a price to pay for shock absorbers

IN YOUR SHOES, but the idea is cool enough to buy. Do not

get me wrong, just because they look cool, is not reason enough

to shell out two hundred bucks to get them (unless your rich). But

then again, if you were rich, you would not be reading this review.

But seriously, Nike’s syles are still kept up to the latest

trends and other brands, such as Fila, And1, Fubu, Reebok, Adidas

and Cons. Nike also makes sandals (beach and soccer), and

tennis shoes. What don’t they make?

Nike endorses many celebrities, and events. They sponsor

hockey players, such as Mats Sundin, basketball players,

baseball players and football players. They are sponsors

for local minority sports teams also. The revenue they generate

by advertisements alone is remarkably high. I hate to say

but to get ahead, Nike had to use a few dirty tactics. Their

home base is in the good U.S of A, but they have many plants

world wide. They exploit children to help make their goods

and. If that is not bad enough, they pay next to nothing

for the child labour. I must be honest, just recently they

have improved their labour force. They made the minimum age

for working in their work stations world wide higher, and they

must pay a certain amount more to each worker. I guess this is

a start, but to me not quite enough.

All in all, Nike is a huge, grand corporation. They make

great quality goods, at decent prices, and will continue to

do so in the many years to come. The pros of this company

and its products greatly outweigh the cons, so I must say

I am impressed with this company’s power and prestige earth

wide for all of these years. They are still one of the top

clothing distributors, even with all of the competition in

society today. And it looks like a pretty spectactular company

would have to come out to beat Nike in the market, and I hope

I am alive to see this feat done.
