I purchased this Nikon Coolpix L110 about a month back. This was supposed to be a step up from my earlier Sony H20 that I bought from the US.L110 provides good zoom range upto 420mm (15x Optical) and average lens (Nikkor 5-75mm). However if purchased with the expectation of stellar performance or professional level picture quality then it would be a simple let-down.
This is basically your average and regular digital camera with only a zoom lens that allows you to capture distant objects somewhat neatly.Particularly, I did not like the details captured in the pictured a lot since there was apparent noise above ISO 200 and chromatic aberration visible in most pictures.You would also notice barrel distortion if look carefully once you extend zoom further than 55mm.Overall I am not impressed with the picture quality - does not meet expectations as provides only average quality pictures, colors and details.
Lack of shutter and aperture controls is also discomforting and delimiter for this camera.You may want to rather look at Canon 1000D (About Rs. 22, 500 in Delhi) or Fujifilm S1800 (About Rs. 14, 000 in Delhi) as Canon 1000d is a professional entry level DSLR and Fujifilm S1800 is a better megazoom with manual controls.
