Various scene modes such as- Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night portrait, Party/Indoor, Beach, Snow, Sunset, Dusk/dawn, Night landscape, Close-up, Food(Different Colors), Museum, Fireworks show, Black and White Copy, Backlighting, and Panorama assist.
The Camera features three image stabilization options:- motion detection, electronic vibration reduction(VR), and Best Shot Selector(BSS) to give good quality images. Even user can setup self-timer for 10 seconds and shoot in a continuous mode at 1.4 fps for up to 4 shots. The Nikon Coolpix L23 can record a movie in VGA format also, at 30 fps. The camera supports AVI movie format and JPEG image format.
