I was looking for a small, compact camera for travel that was easy to use, took great pictures and had lots of useful features. The Nikon Coolpix L30 should fit the bill.
My biggest peeve is the long delay from depressing the shutter button and the camera saving the image. This camera took four-five seconds - my old camera takes two seconds tops. Every time I tried to view the picture I’d taken, up popped the message, "Please wait till camera is finished recording." I’ve never owned a camera that did this so it will take some getting used to.
Another little peeve is that unless you have long fingernails, it can be tricky to eject the memory card while the batteries are still installed. Not a biggie, but annoying if you have to remove the batteries first.
The quality of the images is better than I expected and the camera having 20 mp is a bonus - most of the others I evaluated had only 16 mp maximum.
