The nikon d5300 is one of the best entry level dslr for beginners for the price point under 40k as I myself bought it couple of months ago.
With the body you will get a 18-55mm kit lens which is good to start with but if you are interested in taking good potraits then I will recommend you to buy a 50mm prime lens along with it
About the specs of d5300:
It is packed with 24.1MP DX format CMOS sensor, without OLPF
EXPEED 4 processing
ISO 100-12, 800 standard, up to 25, 600 expanded
5 fps continuous shooting
39-point AF system, 9 sensors cross-type
2016-pixel RGB metering sensor
1080p60 video recording, built-in stereo mic
1.04M dot 3.2 inch vari-angle LCD monitor
Speaking about the picture quality its awesome in daylight though its harder to click good potraits at night but if u get a good f1.8
Lens then u wull get nice bokeh in street lights
Speaking about user friendliness its controls can be a lot bette, the Lcd display screen sucks in bright outdoors and cant see the image properly
Battery life is average, can take upto 300 pics with full charge
Overall in the price range below 50k, nikon d5300 is the best option to go with.I will say its the best dx format camera for beginners!
