Niligiris Brigade Road is one of Bangalore’s first supermarkets and it’s been going strong ever since. The fruit vendor outside (really expensive) has almost become an icon in that part of Banglaore - and Niligiris continues to hold out, even in the face of strong and well plastered adversaries. Niligiris offers the old school feel of supermarkets, without the added frills.
The product offers are simply pasted on good ol A4 size printouts and the wares are laid out neatly. I can’t say that the staff is very helpful - but then what kind of help are you looking for when you go grocery shopping !! The bakery is good and the flavoured milk you get outside in the lobby still tastes just as good as it did years ago! The cake shop, too is really good.
Though there is isn’t any good Parking space (you really can’t expect them to get you parking space now, on Brigades, can you??) but I’d recommend Niligiris to everyone visiting/staying at Bangalore.
