Ok so you all must be thinking what is the point in writing review about a phone that is quite old according to the market. But let me say no phone is old until the customer stops buying it. Now the phone we are talking here is Nokia 1108. Actually my father first had the Nokia 5110 (hope the number is right) which looked like a cordless phone. But since that was a phone that we borrowed from a friend we had to return it back. Now we had to make a choice of new phone. Budget was an important point. The less costlier the more my father will be happy :) Also we wanted a phone that can be used to make and receive calls and SMSes. Any thing more would be an added feature. My father is a kind of person who beleives ’Phone to sirf baat karne ke liye hota hai’ So we went to indraprasth shopping center in Borivali Mumbai. Actually we had zeroed down to Nokia 1100 But we were quite impressed with the Nokia 1108 just because of the backlight. The only difference between the two is back light. White light looks decent. Here we had to shell a few hundred bucks more for the white light. The phone is a no fuss phone will all the basic features like making and receiving calls and smses , alarm clock, couple of decent games including snake :) The other good feature that I like is the composer which allows me the compose the latest ringtones on the cell phone. I download the key presses for composing from the internet :) Rest there are not much high fundu features in the phone. This is because it is budget entry level phone made for indian consumers. The phone is sleek and sexy and is very small (compared to my hand). In the pocket it does not feel as if it is there. If you are looking for a no fuss entry level phone then this is for you. I suggest you go to Alpha in Parle west, Mumbai to buy the phone as you would get a good deal there. All in all a no fuss entry level phone. Oh I forget about the torch feature. This phone has a cool torch feature on the top of the phone. The torch given decent amount of light and can be helpful if there is power cut in the house or you are going thru a dark area.
