Go for White... Gone r those days with Green

Hi Guys,

Nokia 2100 is my fifth mobile phone. Before I have been for these models :

  1. Panasonic (don’t remember Model No.)

  2. Motorola C115

  3. Nokia 3315

  4. Samsung R220

  5. Nokia 2100

Introduction : Nokia 2100 is another name for reliability, efficiency and simplicity. For entry level users Nokia 2100 is a boon, as they will get latest features. In the software part, this phone is a mixture of Nokia 3310 and 1100. Features that are available in Nokia 3315 & 1100 are mostly same. The only difference between them is the button management. In 3315 you get Nokia registered, Navi Keys with one touch operation for different activities. But in Nokia 1100 and 2100, mostly the keys are same, and have different operations for different keys.

Looks : The looks of Nokia 2100 is excellent, mostly when the phone is in use. This is due to its white light keypad. The screen is visible clearly and neatly in comparison to the blue or green screen lights of Samsung R220 and Nokia 3315 respectively. White light can be very useful for women, whenever she is in the lift and there is a sudden power cut. She can use the keypad light as a substitute to emergency light. The white light display is a welcome to mobile phone users, who will be bound to purchase colour mobile phone after this. As once, seen a better quality light, you cannot see clearly in the blue light or green light. But when the phone is kept apart, it doesn’t look like Nokia 2100 model mobile phone with so great features and a good light. It looks as if it is the cheapest mobile phone.

Features : Nokia 2100 has many advanced features like:

Multiple SMS : You can send a message to 10 people at the same time.

Profiles    : Manage your personal ringtones at different situations.

Phone Book : Extra space for those whose service provider sim cards don’t provide enough space in their sim(s). There is 100 phonebook space naa… (When will u use it)

Screen Savers   : This phone supports Animated Screensavers also.

Security    : Keypad Unlock security code is a unique feature in this phone.

Vibration   : Phone rotation of nearly 45 degrees when vibration is on.

Battery : The battery backup time of Nokia 2100 is less in comparison to that of Samsung R220. The main reason for his less backup time is the high-glow light. After 10-12 calls per day with an average of 3 minutes per call, the battery becomes low in the third day itself. But for stand-by, this phone has gained success.

Advantages :

  1. Small, with 18mm thickness. Phone sometimes goes upside-down in pocket.

  2. Lightest in weight in comparison to other nokia models. Weight is 80 grams.

  3. Good Software speed.

  4. Internal Antenna. (doesn’t look like an extra singh on a mobile)

  5. Excellent Screen resolution

  6. Compatible with Data Cables to add your own ringtones and screen savers.

  7. No Hardware problem. The keypad button are smooth enough.

  8. No much expenditure when updating the phone software

  9. And last, but not the least. Photo insert at the back of the phone for dear ones.

  10. Good sound clarity. High volume of ear speaker.

  11. Good Reception, even at basements.

Disadvantages :

  1. Screen size is too small. Characters appear like font size 8 of Verdana

  2. Small message box.

  3. Absence of Polyphonic tones. This feature could be a boon to this mobile.

  4. Absence of Voice Dialing.(Not needed)

  5. Absence of WAP

  6. No such difference in Ring tone volume, in Level 4 and Level 5 (Maximum). The sound of Level 4 is same to the sound of Level 5.

  7. Less In-call options.

  8. Absence of call time display during a call. For this check the last call time status.

Conclusion : After these all, I have came to a conclusion that, however this phone is good enough. Not only for entry level users but also for regular users. People with bad eye sight have been seen more satisfied using this, for its white backlight display. Go for it…. You will know its importance when u use it… and then purchase other mobile phone, after years.
