Every new idea looks crazy at first.
The funny thing about history is that it is rewritten every now and then. And men who have stood aside when all was against them have always written history. There was a time when people ridiculed Alexander Graham Bells global connectivity dreams. However he never stopped, he kept questioning. Whilst others around him were busy making compromises with their comforts, Alexander was making a different kind of compromise. He worked on developing the first indigenous telephone. He succeeded.
Another such leader comes to my mind. Thomas Alva Edison! While the world around him loomed in darkness an idea illuminated in Edisons mind. He progressed with it to invent the first incandescent bulb.
Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, thats creativity.-Charles Mingus
Thankfully, today we are living in an era, where we do not have to discover electricity or for that matter a simple bulb. In fact we are living in a rather diffcult period. The period of constant evolution. Every moment we have to innovate and renovate. This in order to survive. Of such cohesion comes the origin of Nokia 2100. In its endeavor to Connect People better, Nokia launched this model long back. I won this ‘beginners’ phone and am pretty satisfied with its performance.
I graduated to this phone from a lousy local made phone. I was in college then ( I still am , Next month I am supposed to join a PG school). But once into work, I went in for Nokia 2100. I wanted to buy a Samsung, however negative recommendations restrained me to do the same.
Designed as a reliable phone, with an appealing look, and easy to use. Its light, and comfortable to hold and dial, thanks to its clean and sophisticated key mat design and carefully designed grip. I love this phone because its USER FRIENDLY features.
A lot can be done with/on this phone ( in terms of using it wisely). My first priorties while buying a new phone were, to buy a set where I can download kool Ringtones. This one satisfied my desires. At the moment I can download seven ringtones. My present RT is ‘Yeh dosti hum nahi chodenge’, ‘ Ajeeb daastan hai yeh’ and ‘Cant help Falling love with u’. So the RT front this set stands ahead than most of the oher beginners mobile phone. However more downloadable content should be allowed.
My next requirement was a large storage for SMS. This set allows 10+10 SMS to be stored. (10 inbox, 10 outbox). In this sector, Nokia 2100 stands a loser, for no person of my age group wud have SMS less than this number, definitely a large SMS storage is required. However there are some quick features. You can make up to six distribution lists, each with up to ten names, so you can quickly distribute a single message to several friends, family members, or colleagues.
One can also set alarms and reminders, which in my case have been quite helpful. Also the set has a large phone book feature. It can store upto 100 name entries( I need more space). Feeding data into this set is not cumbersome, as I mentioned earlier that the set is user friendly.
Some time has passed when I bought the Nokia 2100. The cost then was Rs 6500/. However, the price for the same has come down drastically and at the moment it may be somewhere around 4, 500 INR.
I would like to play emphasis on one sector of this model. For Nokia 2100, the rule is like, You charge it and forget it. The battery is absolutely superb. Once fully charged it runs for around one-and-a-half days.
Nokia 2100 is light and easy to carry, which makes it all the more lovable. To sum up, it is a good beginners mobile.
