I was using this model for a year , and gave it up 8 days before my Warranty Expired!
I think Nokia made some mistakes with this piece and at one point rumour had it that they were distrubuting free replacements too......!
Well for starters it had a major software mess up. What I mean is...it was a common thing for the phone to hang in the midst of an sms or profile personilization or alarm setting or....just simply anytime! Sometimes it’d restart itself...Just like that...! sometimes it’d just freeze...and a manual reset was needed.
My piece being under warranty, i had a sotware upgrade done, and the problem was resolved to quite an extent but not completely taken care of.
Another problem I faced was the sound just going off at random points of time....
This cost me two trips to the service center and when it happened a third time....i did away with the piece and now use a Sony Erricson T610 , which is a blessing!
Many users of the piece faced such problems....but then there were exceptions! My Mum who has the same piece faces only very remotely occasional ’hanging and restarting’.
The piece otherwise is quite OK for its kinda price range!
It has very basic functions of obviously calling and sms, calculator, composer, alarm clocks, loud-speaker, reminders, polyphonic ringtones, radio, enhancements like colourful panels etc ; but let me warn you its user interface (buttons) are neither for the Weak-Hearted , nor the Fat-Fingered!
It is NOT a colour phone , no GPRS , no Camera...which is why if u have a budget of say
3500/- (upper limit) and u want a Nokia....there are better models to select from....like 2600...(which is equipped with all of 2300 and more except ofcourse the Camera!)
