My mom had been using a white display cellphone for a year. That was good for her since she was new to using a cell phone. Now I wanted her to upgrade to a mobile phone with a colour display and polyphonic ringtones. Her only condition was that her new phone had to have FM. In Nokia 2310 we both got what we wanted. The phone is a beauty for its price Rs 3, 300.
Features: Colour display, polyphonic ringtones, FM with loudspeaker, 200 phone book memory, regional language support like Hindi, Marathi, 300 hours talktime. It has as many as 20 display themes, good screensavers, a lot of choice for message tones, auto keypad lock, calculator, repeat alarm. These are some things that one finds useful. The only drawback as far as I have found is the screen is a bit too small, which need not have been the case since there is enough space above for a larger screen.
Another thing that I loved about it is that it doesnt come in a bulky pack. Even the box is very small and handy. This is probably the first review for the phone because the though it is available in the market, it is not listed on any of Indian sites that sell cell phones, including Nokia.co.in. However, it is already doing well in Europe and other countries. It has all the good things that people love about having a Nokia phone and at the price of non-Nokia phone. However, I found this phone a little too similar LGs B 2000.
But thats only good because now you can get the best of both worlds. If you are a basic cell phone user who doesnt want to pay for features that you rarely use, this is the one for you. That means it does not have Mp3 ringtones, camera, Bluetooth and WAP. But it does have GPRS and FM. It also has call conferencing, call waiting and other features like call time alarm, which basically acts like the beeper at PCOs telling you when your 3 minutes are overs, so you can limit your call duration and hence your costs. What more could you ask for in a cell phone? Accessories: Battery, headphones and charger
