Hiii Viewers,
The Nokia 3.1 Plus has a larger screen, updated hardware and plenty of improved design touches, which should help it feel fresh in a very saturated market. It goes up against the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro and the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1.
The Nokia 3.1 Plus is the latest in a long line of Nokia phones to have launched in India this year. The Nokia 3.1 Plus has been launched at Rs 11, 499. I spent a few days with the Nokia 3.1 Plus to understand these differences to see whether the phone is worth buying over the Nokia 5.1 Plus or is at least a good alternative. Heres what I found.
Display and design
Despite its name, the Nokia 3.1 Plus does not follow a similar design language as the Nokia 6.1 Plus or 5.1 Plus. Aesthetically, the Nokia 3.1 Plus looks closer to the Nokia 3.1, but with some noticeable upgrades to the design. The size of the display has been increased and the bezels have been chopped down. What you get is a 6-inch display with an HD+ resolution. Its quite an attractive display as well thanks to a 2.5D glass on top that nicely curves around the edges. Its a vibrant and colourful panel with good brightness levels indoors and outdoors. Colours look vivid and punchy and youll only be questioning the sharpness while watching videos in 720p.
Performance and software
Inside the Nokia 3.1 Plus, things are a little less premium. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM. You also get 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable via microSD card up to 400GB. These are some basic, entry-level specs thats expected from a budget smartphone under Rs 10, 000. But the Nokia 3.1 Plus is not a budget phone. It is in fact priced higher than the Nokia 5.1 Plus, which is surprising. The 5.1 Plus offers a more powerful Helio P60 chipset that works almost flawlessly.
Cameras
Moving on to the cameras, the Nokia 3.1 Plus packs a dual camera setup on the back with a 13MP+ 5MP configuration with f/2.0 aperture for the primary sensor. On the front, the Nokia 3.1 Plus gets an 8MP f/2.2 sensor. The cameras are pretty identical to what the Nokia 5.1 Plus offers. With the Nokia 3.1 Plus, cameras work well in daylight, capturing surprisingly good detail despite a slow shutter speed. Colours tend to shift between natural to oversaturated depending on different situations and theres a fair bit of processing happening under the hood.
Battery
Apart from the design, HMD is really highlighting the 3, 500mAh battery which the company says will offer a 2-day battery life. So far, HMD has been pretty spot on with the way its phones have delivered on battery life. The Nokia 3.1 Plus continues this run by offering a good day and a half of battery life on average to above average usage. This means if you use it for day-to-day tasks like messaging, social media browsing and some video streaming on YouTube, the Nokia 3.1 Plus will last you over a day with ease.
Pros Classy design Stock, clean Android Oreo Good battery life
Cons 720p display Laggy performance Could have been cheaper
Hope you had undrstand whether you have to buy this phone or not.
Regerds,
