Nokia 3610 Serves Better

Alexander Graham Bell with the help of Thomas Watson invented Telephone. While experimenting with telegraphic system he could realized the possibility of developing a system to transmit voice.

One day Bell and his assistant Watson were in different rooms to try a new transmitter. During the test, acid from a battery spilled on Bell’s clothes and he cried for help. Watson rushed into the room saying I heard every word that you said. That day was March 10, 1876. Bell succeeded in speaking or transmitting words of mouth by an instrument called Telephone. Bell invented the first telephone but the struggle continued to develop the system and to sell the concept. He invented the basic telephone system. Today, due to massive development, the whole concept has changed and we are going for Cell Phone.

Few days back I was watching a news channel and according to that channel, Cell connection in Delhi and Chandigarh is more than that of landline connection. This may be the case in all cities in a very short time because Cell culture is growing very fast due to its versatile use. Even in a small town where I stay, there are two shops where one can get sufficient choice of cell phones to choose one. Range Rs.2500 to Rs. 18000 +. There is too much of choice to confuse one. What we need is a sturdy one but look matters.

I am a Nokia fan. About two years ago started using a 3310 (still going strong - right one for rough service conditions) and recently replaced a 3315 by a 3610 for my wife. This cute model is not rugged like 3310 or 3315. We choose the Silver (& white) one from six different colours (Fuschia, Blue, Grey, Red, Lime). One may also buy the covers of all available colours so that one can switch to some other colour to complement dress or mood.

Time Management

>> On screen Date & Time with built-in graphic display can be modified as per you choice

>> Built-in Stopwatch & Countdown Timer – You need not carry your stopwatch

>> Repeated alarm feature - Set ’’wakeup call’’ and alarm repeats automatically. One can select different time from Monday to Sunday. One may select single alarm also. Very useful for people like me

Messaging

>> SMS alerts – SMS alert can be personalized as per your need. Use a ringing tone as SMS alerts instead of conventional one.

>> Picture Message / Editor - Picture Messages is for sending graphics with short text message. We use it mainly to greet or wish someone. One may Edit / Create your own graphics.

>> Multiple SMS – This is now a common feature but very useful though being misused by many.

>> SMS as reminders - SMS may be saved as reminders so that need not type again. Very useful for routine reminders

>> Templates – One may create own templates for SMS.

>> Chat - Chat via SMS is really a fun. We use it to be in touch with the close one.

Others: -

Display – Display is smaller than 3310 or 3315 but it is much brighter and clear.

Language – Other than English there are 8 more languages of Asia-Pacific however we know only English and Hindi.

Rhythmic Backlight Alert – Backlight dances with ringing tone however we are not using it. Its powerful keypad light is good enough to replace punctured tyre at night or Candle light dinner. Frankly, last Sunday night we have used its light to replace tyre while coming back from Pune. Light is very bright – much brighter if colour is silver.

Games – Different games are Six games - ’Dance2Music’, ’Link5’, ’Magic Draw’, ’Space Impact’, ’Snake II’ and ’Bumper’. One may also download games from many Internet sites via Wireless Application Protocol (WAP).

Radio wave exposure measured as SAR (Specific Absorption Rate). As per international guidelines, SAR limit is 2.0 W/kg. The highest SAR value when tested for Nokia 3610 at the ear is 0.60 W/kg.

As mentioned earlier 3610 is not as tough as compared to 3310 or 3315 but it’s cute with additional features. This machine is in use since three months and we have not faced any problem. After all, it is from Nokia.

In cellular technology, a city is divided into Cells. Each Cell has a radio transmitter and a receiver. Our mobile phone is also a radio transmitter and receiver. As we move with our cell phone from one cell to another cell, a computer transfers the call from one transmitter and receiver to another without any interruption. Today, due to advance technology a Cellular Mobile Service can handle huge number of calls by using single high-power transmitter and receiver for a whole city. Due to these high-power stations, normally within city limits reception is always good even by an ordinary cell phone. However, around periphery we need a good cell phone – Nokia 3610 Serves Better.
