Nokia "authorized" Foneman (phoney man) shop

Firstly, this is probably the wrong category I’m writing in. I want to write about a Nokia authorized shop and not the phone! But Mouth Shut didn’t show the result for Nokia store or shop, so, well. Anyway, I don’t think I quite like the idea of getting to write the review only after the category has been chosen. This is the 3rd time I’ve struggled with writing a review here. Enough of rambling.

Ok, now I want to write about this "authorized" Nokia store in Borivali West, Foneman, which is bang opposite Indraprasth.

My brother bought a swanky Nokia 5800 Music Express for Rs 19, 300 ONLY in September 2008. Barely a week later, he had to return the phone. Well, the phone probably doesn’t like hard work and needs to rest every 10 hours. The applications in the phone just stop working and the phone has to be switched off and on again. Guess what, you cannot even read SMSes. It says, ’Message memory full. Close some applications’.

So, my bro took it back and they said they could fix it. But, wonder if they really worked on it at all. Because they gave it just as it was. After a few more attempts, they said they will replace it, but had a change of mind(if they have any). I haven’t seen the phone with my brother for a continuous one week ever since he bought it, because he is still trying to get it sorted out. And he has the bill and warranty but they won’t replace it for him and actually have the cheek to say that there is not problem with the phone.

Looking at the brighter side, during the time that the phone doesn’t work, the stylus can be used as an ear bud or a toothpick.

A word of advice to Nokia. Stop trusting dealers who pick up handsets from Chor Bazar or Heera Panna and sell it at market price. I’ve never had a prob with a phone bought from the gray market;)

Anyway, now I’m instigating my brother to take up the matter with the Consumer’s Court. But poor dude has been working night shifts and has other things like studying to do during the daytime, so he doesn’t know whether he is coming and going! Guess I will do the needful for him.

A word of friendly advice for you guys, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS SHOP: FONEMAN, 17 & 18 MADHU MILAN, OPP INDRAPRASTH, S. V ROAD, BORIVALI(W), MUMBAI - 92

They are cheats.
