I was looking for a nokia phone that looks very elegant and not like a jazzy toy; yet loaded with some fun features. Nokia 6220 was the right choice.
I used to have a Nokia 6610 and was very happy with its feature set. When I had to choose a new phone, I wanted everything that 6610 had and more. The main points that made me go for the 6220 were:
GPRS/EDGE connectivity; EDGE is enhanced GPRS supporting higher speeds. We dont have EDGE in India yet. But hopefully we well very soon. https://nokia.com/nokia/0%2C%2C32892%2C00.html
Voice commands, Voice recorder and Voice dialing. Setting voice commands is a great feature. If you keep the handsfree button pressed, it activates the voice command mode. Then I just speak out ’Radio’ to turn the radio on and ’Radio off’ to turn it off, and dont even have to take my phone out of my pocket. 6220’s speech recognition capability is just too good.
Other cool features:
caller picture on incoming calls
FM Radio. one of the best reception quality I have seen.
xHTML - rich WAP pages
still camera - resolution is not that good but good enough for those photo moments when u dont have your camera nearby.
video camera with voice - so can see those clips and hear it too.
Best part is the cost. When this camera was released, I heard it sold for around 19k or so. Now with all new models, the price has gone down. I got mine for 13k.
Overall, excellent feature set & worth the cost.
