Hello people, this is my second review here.. u might remember my first review about citibank and it’s services..well that’s me.. anyway..I’ll get to it..
The Nokia 7610..Outstanding design, and nothine else to talk about.. Hell, don’t get me wrong..it’s an amazing phone..I’d give it 10/10...but there is nothing really new to talk about this phone.. Features..
-series 60 (Symbian 8 based)
-1 megapixel cam
-10 min of video recording
-Mem card expansion
-blue tooth
-Eye opener Design!!
-other stuff that I find cool!!
FINALLY - TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY??
This is actually my 5th phone and man do I love this baby!! She’s really got the looks, the features, and she plays MP3, plays Videos, check my mail, surf the net, download stuff, make presentations, and a lot lot more..
series 60 --------this phone is based upon the series 60 platform and it actually has an operating system which allows u to multi task!!! cool huh?? hece u also see a lot more programs and applications coming out for this phone, than for the other non-symbian based phones.
1 megapix cam --------------The 1mgpx cam is good, but is only good in well light areas, although it has a night mode, it is not too effective and hence avoid taking pictures in the dark..well if u absolutely must then do take it, but u wont be impressed. In bright light the cam is awesome, so muh better than the k700i and 6600 or any other cam phone.. yeah, it’s the best cam phone, today. 10 min of video recording. The phone as 10 min of video recording..which is very decent.. again low light dissapoints along with the night mode.. the night mode gives very clear pictures but then the video becomes choppy. Recorded audo is crystal clear when played back on a PC. It doesn’t sound great on the speaker phnone, but good enough..
MEM card expansion---- This is my favourite part!! The phone has what is called a RS-MMC slot ie a Reduced Size Multi Media Card. This is a much smaller version of the older MMC and is now easily available anywhere. I mean look, the phone plays MP3’s, videos, games and a lot more..but u need somewhere to store them. By default the phone comes with a 64mb card..this will soon be insufficient if u are a music junkie. Throw it out and get a 256 or 512 mb card..1Gb isn’t yet available in RS-MMC, if it is i’m sorry I’ve never seen it. A 256 RSMMC card will cost u bout 3k..maybe I bought mine 7 months back..the prices should have come down now..so maybe for 2.7k u should be able to grab a 256 RS MMC.
Blue Tooth------- This is one of the reasons I bought this phone.. the BT support is simply awesome.. I can actually hook this phone up to my BT Projector and shoot presentations off my phone..ofcourse u need the right tools to do it..but it can be done.. data transfer is so much easier with BT. The phone lacks infrared though..it’s not widely used now..but I guess it should have been there. BT also allows u to use the BT hands free sets that come form nokia or Jabra.
Other Cool stuff.---- Well, what can I say here. The phone plays java games, symbian games and hold ur breath..if u have the right tools, it can play ur SEGA GENESIS GAMES, NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT GAMES, GAME BOY & GAME BOY COLOR GAMES..thus, , bringing the games library for this phone to a massive 6945 games!!! (don’t ask me how I came to his figure..I just did...ok give n take 100)
You can actually watch movies and videos on the phone(no I’m not talking like a layman here..) I mean I actually have Gone on 60 Seconds(the entire movie on my phone).. along with a couple of F.R.I.E.N.D.S episodes...which I watch while waiting or just hangin out at some coffee shop..I put on my blue tooth hands free and watch these also u can really customise the phone with THEMES..
Currently there are over 70000 themes available for this phone!! TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY?? mmm, this is a toughie... well look people, , the fact with this phone is that it is very customisable...and that is the emphasis on the phone..u make the phone look good, it makes u look good!! let me put it this way.. two people have phones...
I asked man #1, what does ur phone do..he says the following-- man #1 - my phone can receive and make calls, send sms, color display, MMS, camera, video recording and it looks awesome!!! me - ok cool, which model is it.. man #1 - nokia 7610!! me - (asking man 2) what does ur phone do??? man 2 - all that man1’s phone does + I can time my camera, I can watch movies, I can check my mail, I can access my word and excel docs, I have a world clock, my phone doubles a BT remote for winamp, I can play java, symbian , sega, nintendo, game boy color games on my phone + it looks awesome!!! me- wow which phone do u have?? man 2- nokia 7610

So see what I’m saying.. it’s totally customisable!!! it’s really upto u to decide what u want from that phone..cuz this is one phone that can do almost everything!! my opinion ... go for it!!
